Payroc is a growing global payment processing company operating in over 45+ markets, with 151k clients and $81bn in annual payment volume. Founded in 2003, Payroc offers best-in-class sales enablement and merchant processing technology. Payroc was recently named an "Organization of the Year" winner in the 2023 Excellence in Customer Service Awards presented by Business Intelligence Group.
Following a series of strategic acquisitions, Payroc’s data was dispersed across the different business units. Led by CTO Paul Vienneau, Payroc embarked on a project to build a single unified data architecture and streamline data access for its sales and support teams, and external parties.
Payroc adopted Snowflake as its data warehouse, paired with technologies like dbt and Looker for data transformation and analytics. On the operations side, Salesforce remained the central point for people and processes, with Omnata providing the critical real-time integration to data in Snowflake.
Partnering with Omnata on the initiative was an insightful endeavor. Their understanding of real-time data integration offered a new perspective to our process, enhancing the speed at which we could deliver operational insights to our users. Along with Omnata, the experience and results we gained during the implementation offered us transformative ways of improving our business intelligence operations and shaping the future of our data-handling strategies.

As a payment processor, Payroc’s use cases required data to be as close to real-time as possible with large volumes of merchant transactional and telemetry data. This type of integration would have been onerous and expensive using traditional point-to-point data replication.
Omnata allowed Payroc to roll out seamless operational insights to hundreds of end-users while keeping the project on-budget. Its fully native architecture on Salesforce meant that handling customer data was not an issue and the simple configuration based solution was deployed in a matter of weeks.
The data operations team no longer has to create and manage ETL pipelines into Salesforce, which saves time and resources. In addition, the live-query architecture has eliminated the back and forth between the data management team and Salesforce business users over whether data has been loaded or not.
